March is the kick off of our birthday season. Shaylah turned 12 and Poppet turned a big 4. I was still not feeling well when Poppet's birthday came around and I thought we were going to have to postpone it and not mention it to her, but thankfully everyone else took over. Duane went and got her a gift and the girls decorated the house with streamers, balloons, and made brownies so we were able to celebrate her special day after all.
When Shaylah's birthday got here I was feeling much better so she was able to have four friends over to celebrate with her. We don't automatically have "friend" parties so she was very excited for this party.
Since we have so many months with multiple birthdays in them we combine birthdays and have one big party for the birthdays in that month. It makes it much easier for the grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins that come. The kids actually really like this too as they end up getting to celebrate their birthdays on their actual day with us and then again with all the extended family.
