Update in Neyville

Another month almost gone! I don’t know why I am continually amazed at how time flies, but I am . I haven't done a real post in quite a while so here it goes.
A few weeks ago we went to the Civil War Reenactment. The weather was nice and warm, almost too warm. We had several sun kissed faces at the end of the day. The boys really got a kick out of seeing the battle. We took fried chicken and had lunch down by the water. The kids took their shoes off and played in the water to cool off a bit. It was so nice to get out after being housebound for so long.

We had Easter here at our house. Duane’s mom, dad, brother, niece and nephew came as well as my brother, sister-in-love, and almost all of her family. We had a packed house! It was a great day. Their were lots of kids to hunt for eggs and Shyloh made a pinata for the kids to hit. That thing was so solid! She made a second one as a joke on her cousin Gary. It was made much thinner and she filled it with shaving cream. One hit and it exploded!

Shadd turned a big 7. He is our little tax baby, born on the 15th. The kids always get to pick what they want for their birthday dinner. He chose fettuccine alfredo, barbecued tri tip, cabbage salad, and rolls. I figured he would want mac and cheese or something! Nope! He’s been having lots of fun working on his new K’Nex set.

Duane is a huge baseball fan and the two older boys are slowing becoming fans too. They always have family baseball games in the backyard. (I have no chance of growing grass, but then again we are raising kids not grass!) We decided to surprise Duane and make up our own baseball shirts. The kids all voted on a color and then we bought transfer paper and put our names and numbers on the shirts. Since Shyloh was # 1 we made Jeff 1.5. It was a fun surprise and they love wearing their shirts when they play baseball in the backyard.

(All of us with our "baseball" shirts)
(This is what the back of the shirts look like. We each have our name on back.)

Speaking of baseball...Duane, Jeff, and the boys all went to a Giants game this month. They had a fun time and us girls had a nice quiet evening here with my sweet sister, Lynette, and watched a movie, ate pizza, and had ice cream.

(Doesn't the stadium look huge?)

Shylie will be six months on Thursday. She is so much fun! She is getting to that stage where her personality is coming out. She acts quite “foxy” these days. She has the best little rolls on her legs and now that the weather is getting warm she is wearing lots of onesies so we can see all of them. (My little sunshine!)

I love this time of year. I just love being together outside. We have been working in the garden planting this week too. Usually we would have done this over a month ago but I wasn’t up to it. We will just have to wait a bit longer to taste those homegrown tomatoes!

(My little sweeties! I just love having three little girlies again!)
