Happy Birthday Shayden!

Saturday was Shayden's 9th birthday! Wow! Where does the time go? Shayden was my only c-section baby and since his birth I have wished that I wouldn't have gone that route. He was breech so my doctor suggested a c-section. At the time I didn't realize that breech is really just another variable of normal. My spinal didn't work so when they started to cut into me I felt it! Yikes! They quickly put me under all the way. Not only did I miss out on his birth, but ended up with a spinal headache for a week after his birth. I missed out on a week of my first son's life. I have prayed hard over the years for the Lord to heal us both from that birth trama and make up what I felt like I lost. It is very strange to wake up to someone shoving a polaroid of a baby in your face and telling you "see your son". The Lord has been gracious and has restored all that I missed out on with him that first week. I am so blessed to have him!
Saturday Shayden requested "Nachos" for his birthday dinner and icecream sundaes with ALL the toppings! He had lots of fun opening all his gifts. The kids love to go shopping at Dollar Tree to buy gifts for their sibbings birthdays!

Notice Shannen's little face in the back. I think he felt like it was his birthday too. He couldn't wait to play with Shayden and all his new toys.
