Winter Wonderland and our weekend

We are walking in a "Winter Wonderland" here in Neyville. The kiddos have been very busy fashioning and designing snowflakes. Well, actually truth be told, it hasn't been just the children making snowflakes but even adults. Jeff and Shyloh hung all the snowflakes from the ceiling in our playroom. It is very impressive.

Friday we went on one more trip before Duane had to go back to work. We went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We stopped by the Marina State beach first and ate our customary lunch of fried chicken and potato salad then headed to the aquarium. We usually hit the beach to play and get wet after we leave the aquarium but since we took our time getting up there and hung out extra long in the aquarium it was already getting to dark to go back to the beach and play. Friday just happened to be the day that the aquarium opened back up from 7-10 for a special member night. We left long enough to go get a bite to eat then headed back at 7:00 to hang out some more.

On Saturday we went to the Festival of Lights parade downtown and then came home and celebrated my sweet brother's birthday. My brother, sister in law, and her family came over. We had pizza then walked through Christmas Tree Lane and then came home and had birthday cake and made snowflakes. At one point the table was filled with only adults as they cut and created their masterpieces. Making snowflakes can actually be addictive! Jeff came over yesterday after work with a handful of snowflakes that he had made...during work!

We have loved having these last six weeks with Duane home. It has been a wonderful time of hanging out and doing some fun things. Today was his 3rd day back and we all miss him terribly. We would sure love to be self employed!
