Parenthood quotes

My friend sent me these quotes. Thought I would share them.

You don't really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go-round will wave at his parents every time around - and why his parents will always wave back.

Parenthood: That state of being better chaperoned than you were before marriage.

The quickest way for a parent to get a child's attention is to sit down and look comfortable.

Sing out loud in the car even, or especially, if it embarrasses your children.

My mom used to say it doesn't matter how many kids you have... because one kid'll take up 100% of your time so more kids can't possibly take up more than 100% of your time.

If your children spend most of their time in other people's houses, you're lucky; if they all congregate at your house, you're blessed.

The guys who fear becoming fathers don't understand that fathering is not something perfect men do, but something that perfects the man. The end product of child raising is not the child but the parent.

When my kids become wild and unruly, I use a nice, safe playpen. When they're finished, I climb out.

Conscience is less an inner voice than the memory of a mother's glance.
