A day away!

Today we spent the day at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, formally known as Marine World. We go there every May and usually once in the fall on homeschooling day. The weather was beautiful and even the crowds were not to bad today. The only bummer to the whole day was that I forgot my camera! How in the world did I do that? Must be that pregnancy brain! Duane suggested part way through that I try my phone. I wish I would have thought of that a little earlier, but never the less I did get a few pictures. The kids had a wonderful day! A couple of years ago we decided that it was just to hard to try to see and do everything in one day so since we try to go twice a year we alternate what we do. One trip is just for rides and the next time is just to catch all the shows. (We love the whale show!) Today we hit just the rides. It makes it so much more enjoyable and not so rushed. It was so much fun to see even Shaynah get into the rides this time. Shelbie took Shallyn on quite a few too, but I don't think she really understood what it was all about. She just likes hanging out with the big guys! Duane and I just enjoyed watching the kids. Funny how as we get older as parents and our children grow the things we used to enjoy change. I get so much pleasure out of watching my children have fun!
Today also just happened to be my birthday, so that just made the day even more special for me. I started the day with many hugs, kisses, and birthday wishes and as the kids were sleepily heading to bed they gave me many more! As I was carrying Shaynah to bed (she fell asleep on the ride home) she woke and very sweetly said, "happy birthday Mama". Yes, it was! The boys were so worried that I hadn't opened my gifts yet. I told them I would in the morning. See, that way I stretch my birthday into two days! ;o)

Hey Marni-

I didn't know you had a blog, so it's been fun to read through it this afternoon. Hope you're starting to feel well these days :)
