Cover's and Columbia

Wednesday we decided to take a trip up to Cover's Apple Farm and then on to Columbia. Originally we had wanted to head up to the San Fransisco zoo because in the past it was free the first Wednesday of the month. Fortunately, we checked into that before we drove there and found out that they no longer do that. Instead of cancelling the day completely we decided to head up the hill. We went by and kidnapped, or should I say "auntie-napped", my sister in law and took her with us.
We stopped by Taco Bell on the way to the apple farm and grabbed some lunch and ate on the picnic tables they have there. Cover's is such a sweet little place. They still had their little hay maze up so the kids had fun running around in that, they also have some farm animals and even a small playground. We spent a couple hours just hanging out there. The kids enjoyed feeding and petting the animals. They had two baby pygmy goats that were just so sweet!
After we left there we headed to Columbia. The boys had fun climbing the huge rocks and exploring. We wandered through the town a bit and of course hit the candy shop! (Mmmm!) I've never been there when it was so empty. I think we owned the town that day!
It was so nice just to get out of the house and do something with the kids. It was very relaxing and Shylie did wonderful hanging out in the sling all day. The first Wednesday of December we are going to head up to San Fransisco and go to the Exploratorium. They are still free the first Wednesday of the month.
Love those free field trips!
