I have never attempted to do bulk cooking. I have heard of people having their big cooking day in the kitchen and making up several meals and freezing them, but for me that has always seemed to overwhelming to try. I rented the book Fix, Freeze, Feast from the library and think we are going to give this a try. My sweet husband gets up for work at 3:30am so he really needs to get to bed early on work nights and that is really hard if we are eating late. He has asked if we could move dinner up to 5:00 or 5:30 so he still has time to hang out with the family a bit before bed and not leave the dinner table and have to head straight to bed. I really want to honor this request, but really have had a tough time getting school wrapped up early enough so that dinner can be started by 3:30 or 4:00. After reading this book I am thinking this just may be a solution for us on work nights. I could even count our cooking day for school! I don't think I would like to pull meals out of the freezer like this everynight, but the four nights a week that he needs to go to bed early this would be a huge help. We could pull the meal out in the morning, start french bread or dinner rolls in the bread machine early in the day, and then make a salad or cut up fresh fruit to go with it and voila dinner is done! Hopefully this is a great solution for us! I'll let you know soon!
