Day one

Day one of our new year didn’t go to bad after all. Since we don’t have our new schedule put together yet I was really worried with what would “actually” happen yesterday.

We didn’t make it to calendar time for the little ones, but they did get everything done in their binders and even had time to play a couple of learning games. Shayden and Shannen also swam 70 laps in the pool for p.e.. I only said 10, but you know how boys are, they just have to “prove” their manliness. :o) The boys also made a volcano in the sandbox for science.

The big boys did great on being self motivated and working thru things on their own. When it came time for math Shannen had forgot how to do a couple of things since we haven’t done anything for a month. They put their Math U See video in and then Shayden worked thru some of the problems with Shannen until he understood it. I was so blessed to see this!

Even Lolly had fun doing her “school” and felt like a big girl with her folder of work. This week will definitely be a trial week of sorts and I’m sure we’ll end up tweaking and fine tuning some things. So far at the end of day one we are all liking our new binder system and we all have high hopes for this year!

And last but not least of our day…Shaylah and I picked up our new glasses. We all had eye exams last week and we didn’t quite make the cut. Hopefully we at least look smart?
