Free fries?

A couple of weeks ago we took the kids bowling. We have been trying to take advantage of the free bowling this summer. When we go we never order any food because it’s just so pricey and artery clogging anyway.

This time we decided to surprise the kids with some bowling alley fries. When I was pregnant with Shyloh this was my craving! An order of fries, side of mayo and ketchup and I was set!

Duane went and placed the order without telling anyone. He came back carrying one of those pagers that vibrate and light up. The kids went nuts wanting to know what it was. Duane being his witty self tells them that its a game. He said he paid a dollar for the game and if you can make it light up you win some free fries. To make it light up you had to hold your fingers on it until it heats up. He said it takes the energy from their bodies.

My intelligent and bright, but yet sheltered I guess, children held their little fingers on the thing for 10 minutes! It finally went off and they all whooped and hollered! Duane headed back to the snack counter with several excited kids behind him waiting to see what they “won”.

You would have thought they won the lotto when they came back. They were so excited that instead of winning one fry they won three! Wow! They must have some strong energy running through them!

After the fries were eaten we let Shelbie and Shaylah in on our little secret. Let’s just say they both felt a little gullible and silly, but that made Daddy enjoy his joke even more!

Anytime my husband says something that sounds a little odd to the kids, they say "really Mom?" because they know their Dad likes to tease! I usually just say, "you know your daddy" and they know he's teasing. Gotta love those Daddy's!
