Multitude Monday

I am so glad that I have started making a list of all the many things I am daily grateful for. There truly is a multitude of things everyday. It has opened my eyes to little, unseen things that can so easily slip by unnoticed. The Lord has blessed me and I am forever thankful to Him!

31. Little ones watching and waiting for outside time.

32. Family work day outside.

33. Silliness

34. The men getting to go to a baseball game and the girls getting a girls night.
(and what happens on girls night, stays at girls night!)Emoticons

35. How sunshine can make even a dirty floor look beautiful.

36. Date with my honey. (boy, I love that man!)

37. Caesar salad with homemade croutons.

38. The smell of rain

39. Lazy weekend morning, cuddling in bed with my hubby and a toddler in the middle.

40. Rainy movie day with lights off, hanging with my favorite people.

Praise the LORD! Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever.

Haircuts anyone?

Over the last few months I've been teaching Shaylah how to cut the boys hair for me. I've done our own hair for years and decided it was time to pass the baton. Shaylah has done pretty good and overall the boys hair is pretty forgiving. I finally decided that it was time to teach the girls how to trim each others hair.
Shelbie was very nervous to have Shaylah practice on her long hair. There was quite a bit of nervous laughter from both of them. Shaylah did good and today we are going to teach Shelbie to do Shaylah's!
Can you see how nervous Shelbie looks?

Waiting his turn.

Next up!

Shadd's turn

Okay, funny girl! No mohawks! Even though Shadd can still look sweet with a mohawk.

Easter

Easter was a bit different this year. Normally we host Easter here and do the typical eating, visiting, egg hunt, and hanging out with family and sometimes friends. This year tradition was broken...accidentally.
Duane had been wanting to get tickets for all of us to go to a San Fransisco Giants preseason game and he found tickets for only $4. What a deal, huh? There was only one weekend we could go and the Saturday game was late enough in the day that I was worried about how cold it would be for the little ones so he went ahead and bought tickets for the Sunday game at noon.
We found out the next day that the Sunday game was on Easter. Duane tried to cancel the tickets, but it was too late. We talked with my mom, brother, and sil who all agreed that no matter what we just wanted to be together on Easter so we got them tickets too. We were all a bit disappointed, but decided that we would make the most of it.
Last year I made all of us baseball shirts to kick off baseball season and for the kids to wear when they are playing ball in the back yard. I made them again this year and we all wore them to the game.
When we got to the game it was cold...very cold. Soon after we got there the rain started. All I could do was laugh because I didn't want to go to the game on Saturday because of how cold it was and here we were sitting in freezing cold rain. Jeff and Shyloh had bought us all rain ponchos, which were a life saver! Instead of sporting our cute shirts we sported huge plastic bags! We hooped and hollered, well some of us did and some whined about how cold and wet we were, and we did lots of laughing. Duane even tried to get the wave going.
Smiley
Contentment is all in the way you look at things, and happiness is the state of your mind, not your circumstances so even though we were soaked and cold we tried to make the best of it!
We made it thru to the 6th inning and then decided to call it a day. The little girls were so cold that Poppet started to cry and I won't say any names, (I'll protect your identities Shyloh and ShaylahSmiley ) but we even had some big girls that were really whining. As we were packing it up they called the game due to the rain.
We came home and made a fire, hot chocolate, and huge pot of homemade chicken noodle soup. We hung out with each other and watched a movie. Uncle Micah made the mistake of falling asleep and Shyloh painted his nails and stuck bunny years on him. I'm sure those pictures will come back to haunt him down the line.
The day ended up being one that we will all remember for years to come, but we will also make sure to check the calendar when Daddy is buying Giants tickets!smiley emoticons

It's a very good thing we took pictures before the game because after we looked like a pack of wet dogs.

The backs of our shirts.

Just happy being together!
(you can't see her well, but Shylie is in the front pack which is under my zipped coat and under the poncho. She was such a trooper! I would put my head under the poncho to keep dry and she loved just "talking" with me.)

Don't we look cold?

Trying to look cheery!

Snuggling by Mama to keep warm.

This was before she started crying from being so cold. LOL

(If you look close you will notice the large holes in my roses. they realized they goofed so then they dug up some of my agapanthis and "replanted" them to cover the holes! Gotta love the heart behind this!☺)

Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.

Shh!

Nobody tell her, but Shylie slept thru the night again last night for the 4th night in a row!!! Yes, she is actually 17 months old and should have done this over a year ago, but I guess she never got that memo.

Out of all my children they have all slept thru the night by 8 weeks old except for two of them; Shelbie and now Shylie. Shelbie was 14 months before she slept thru and that was hard, but as the months passed by with Shylie I was starting to think my hopes of 8 hours of straight sleep was nothing more than a dream, a dream I could never finish because I was always getting woke up from her! There were nights that she would actually wake up 3 and 4 times throughout the night! Ugh!! Last year when I was so sick I really thought that just the lack of sleep was going to do me in!

It's really amazing how good a person can feel just by getting sleep! I am hoping that this isn't just a fluke, but that we have really just arrived!!
Sweet Dreams!

Good Morning Mary Sunshine!

Even Shylie feels good after a good night sleep!

I will lie down and sleep in peace...Psalm 4:8
