The reality of what is going to happen in the next two weeks really set in today when Shyloh had one of her bridal showers today. It almost felt sereal. We have been planning and preparing for her wedding but somehow it still felt like a bit of a dream and like we had plenty of time.
Shyloh glowed and looked simply beautiful! This is my girl who has been planning her wedding since she was 10. Seriously! She has only had one dream in life...to be a wife and mom. All girls dream of this but she has always been so very serious about this. When we would talk about what she was going to do after school she would tell us that she has prayed about it and doesn't feel led to college but rather to spend the next season of her life preparing to be a godly wife and mom. Now she is about to start putting into practice what she has been praying and preparing for.
Annie, Shelbie, and Shaylah put on the shower for her. It was beautiful! I know Shyloh felt so loved by them and all the people who showed up to it. Next weekend Jeff's sweet sister is hosting a shower for her too. I don't even want to blink because before we know it we will be watching her say "I do".

Okay...I was fine at the shower, but just sitting watching the slide show has brought me to tears.

So. I didn't think that I'd be crying...but yes, I am. Shyloh has wanted this since I became friends with her (was that really over 5 years ago?!). It's so refreshing to me to see this come about. It gives me hope for me, I know that God has a wonderful guy waiting for me...but sometimes it's hard to wait. Shyloh will never know just HOW MUCH she has inspired me to wait for that perfect guy, to not make exceptions. I'm so very happy for her. I'm going to be a mess at the wedding! With lots of love to the Ney family.
Wow, I was sitting here watching the slide show with my eyes getting teary and I thought that I was weird but, I guess I'm not the only one! You ALL looked gorgeous! I hope you girlies had fun. ☺
