Over the ickies and ramblings

Praise the Lord, we are finally over all the sickies! Well, I guess I shouldn't say totally over because Jeff and Shyloh are now fighting a bit of a cold. They can tough it out as they don't need me to hold and pamper them. They are on their own! Of course we still want them better quick or they'll be looking at the baby from across the room!

Yesterday we all decided to walk down to the park and then to my father and mother in laws house. Lots of walking!! Duane and I also snuck out for some spicy Mexican food for lunch. NOTHING! I am still very much pregnant! If you have noticed my little ticker in the sidebar is now going backwards. I am 4 days overdue! Not that a "due date" means much but it is still annoying seeing the days go backwards. I am thinking tonight would be great! Jaque was here today and she thinks by Wednesday, if not sooner, we will have a baby. She said with her big families when someone is sick or the family is dealing with something that mom will tend to go overdue. Almost like her body can't relax enough to let labor start. She thinks that is what is going on with me. Two weeks of sickies and now that everyone is well she thinks a good night or two of sleep and my body will kick in.

A friend gave me a link to make some homemade laundry soap. I tried it this week and really like it. I think I am going to "tweak" the recipe just a bit and add some fragrance oil to it, but overall it seems to work really well. It is really inexpensive to make too! It isn't powder but more of a gel consistency. I also made a batch of bar soap today. Shyloh and I have been making our own soap for about 6 months or so now and really love it. Today I added some sea salt to the bottom of it so it would be exfoliating. I can't wait to use it tonight! Shelbie and I also made some homemade applesauce. We had quite a few apples still on our tree and I was worried that they would start to go bad. We cut, bagged, and froze some and then made applesauce. The first batch was just basic applesauce with cinnamon added, the second batch we added the leftover strawberry sauce that Shyloh made for our waffles this morning. One word...YUMMY! We already like applesauce around here but this was really good. Now I just need to learn how to can it!

Shyloh and Shelbie are babysitting tonight so Duane and I are trying to get all the little ones to bed very early so he can run and get us some Panda Express (my pregnancy craving for a couple months!) and we can have a quiet date night tonight. Some yummy food and a good movie cuddled on the couch sounds very relaxing!

I can't believe I've not been able to get myself organized enough to come for a visit! I was wondering how close you were to your due date and I see it has come and gone. I will be praying for comfort and patience, and a quick delivery for you. Can't wait to hear the news!
