Pumpkin patch fun

Last night we did a last minute pumpkin patch trip. There's sure something about going to the pumpkin patch that really helps usher the fall season in.

It was a rare moment when both our big girls were able to go with us. I'm not particularly fond of the season were in. Between Shelbie working three jobs and Shaylah gone at school full time its hard to find a time that is "good" for everyone to do outings like this.

Last night was lovely! All my people together!

Our family has expanded!

We are so excited to announce our 1st grandbaby! Shyloh and Jeff had the most beautiful baby boy yesterday afternoon.  She did incredible!  It was the most peaceful calm water birth ever.

It almost felt like we were in church at times as she labored so peacefully and hummed quietly through her contractions. (We could hear her humming “Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus”.  Perfect to meditate on while in labor!) There was a cd that played soft instrumental music and spoke scripture and prayers for childbirth playing quietly also.  She was so calm even while pushing.  She had a wonderful Christian midwife with her that would sit quietly laying hands on her and praying over her while she labored.

It was so strange to be on the other side of labor watching my baby have her first baby.  I feel so blessed that I was able to be there with her!

Shyloh gave birth at 2:21 pm on April 22.  The baby was 6lbs. 2 oz.  They haven’t decided on a name yet, but that will be announced very soon I’m sure.
